Basic Obedience Training

Starting with Basic Obedience Training is a great way to set your dog up for success and provides a foundation for more advanced training. Teaching the basics is a fun and important step to help establish a strong and positive relationship between a dog and owner, as well as reducing problem behaviours such as destructiveness.

Our Basic Dog Obedience Level 1 Training program is a group class that teaches dogs a variety of commands including Sit, Stay, Release, Heel, Down, Place, and Recall. The class also covers basic problem behaviors such as jumping up. With a maximum of 6 dog participants, your dog will receive personalized attention and guidance from our expert trainers.

Once your dog has completed Basic Obedience Level 1, they are ready to move on to Obedience Level 2. This program takes Level 1 commands to the next level with more distance, duration, and distractions, as well as Canine Good Neighbour training in preparation for certification.

At The Dog Stop, we understand that every dog is unique, and we pride ourselves on providing individualized attention to each dog in our care. Whether your dog needs one-on-one training or socialization with other dogs, our trainers will work with you to create a program that fits your dog’s personality, learning style, and behaviour.

Both classes have a maximum of 6 dog participants.
